No shortage of Thriposha

No shortage of Thriposha Featured

There is no shortage of Thriposha, given for pregnant and breasfeeding mothers and low-weight children, says minister Rajitha Senaratne.

Production at the factory at Kandana was minimized for the past few months due to new machinery being installed there.

Production resumed 10 days ago using the old machinery, says the minister.

New machinery, bought at a cost of Rs. 700 million from the US, began to be installed in July this year.

Production was suspended for about two months as the factory’s roof had to be redone at a height of 60 metres.

Chairman of Thriposha company M.D. Bandusena says the installation of new machinery would be completed by the first week of October.

Production will resume after an inspection by US engineers, he says.

The chairman has been instructed by the minister to look into the possibility of releasing a surplus production of 750 mt to the open market.

Two storages will be added to the factory at a cost of Rs. 200 million.
