The man, identified as Moratu Saman, is wanted by the FCID, and he took poison last Friday after Weerawansa’s brother Sarath was arrested for misusing a state vehicle.

Weerawansa went to hospital on Saturday to see Moratu Saman, who rents out luxury cars for Dialog company.

Hailing from Matara, he had come to live in Moratuwa and the media has highlighted his having become wealthy within a short period.

The reason for his having taken poison is reportedly that he is badly in debt.
