When contacted, Namal has said he obtained a bank loan and bought the vehicle in 2010 using his duty free license.
He said he sold the car a year ago to a friend, and that he was was unaware of the reason for the police having seized it.
Police believe that after using the vehicle in 2010, Namal has sold it to an underworld member identified as ‘G Boy’.
A few weeks ago, details emerged about three valuable cars given to the three Rajapaksa sons by a Thai restauranter accused of money laundering.
