EPDP leader Douglas Devananda has written to the IGP, asking that an investigation be held into certain allegations of war crimes leveled against his party and the Army.

A former member of the party by the name S. Ponnaiah held a media breifing in Jaffna on August 29 and claimed he knew information about most of these crimes.

MP Devananda said Ponnaiah had been removed from the EPDP due to his anti-social activities, corruption and fraud.

He added that his party would fully support such an investigation.
