The President also said that housing projects would be implemented for the estate communities an ensure them ownership of houses.

Although some talk of privatisation, the government will not allow a single estate to be privatised, he emphasised.

Noting that the Tamil masses are the heartbeat of Sri Lanka and that no one could say otherwise, the President further said that an airport would be built in Nuwara Eliya.
