The FCID is investigating complaints that the Rajapaksas had accepted, as commission, luxury apartments from foreign investors who had started super luxury hotel projects during their regime, accoriding to reports reaching Sri Lanka Mirror.

Accordingly, 325 persons who have paid advances for the luxury apartments under construction in front of Galle Face Green in Colombo are to be investigated.

The minimum price of such an apartment is between 500,000 and 800,000 dollars.

Investigations are also on into persons who had undertaken the construction of such luxury apartments in Colombo and suburbs.

They include a man and his son who had built a large apartment complex in Colombo recently.

The former president has also attended its opening.

Most of these businessmen have had closed links with the Rajapaksas.

Therefore, it will be investigated as to whether the Rajapaksas have invested in these projects.

FCID chief Ravi Vaidyalankara has gone to India on several occasions and looked into persons who have built the apartments.
