Move to arrest Common Opposition Candidate? Featured

A sinister move is said to be underway to arrest Common Opposition candidate Maithripala Sirisena has come to light following information provided by a confessor Dhammika Bandara Illangasinghe to police.

Illangasinghe has told the Mount Lavinia Magistrate that a sum of Rs.160 million in foreign currency found at his residence in Ratmalana was given by Maithripala Sirisena to be given to his uncle.

Illangasinghe is the son of the bother of the father of the girlfriend of Dhaham who is the son of Maithripala.

He told the magistrate he had brought the money home on the 14th of this month.

He also said that it was his uncle Athula Rohana Weeraratne who told him that the money was given by Maithripala Sirisena.

But police have not been able to make any arrests as the residents of the house had fled.

Police are said to be awaiting instructions from court to carry out further investigations.
