Two nights ago, president Sirisena met with several SLFP seniors to discuss the matter.
Meanwhile, party general secretary Duminda Dissanayake says ex-president Mahinda Rajapaksa had the option of tendering an apology to the SLFP and the party leadership for the wrongs he had committed, or else resign.
The party has taken a decision, following several rounds of talks, to fully reorganize the party by removing all those who conspired to divide the party, he said.
All those who love the party were of the view that patience had reached its limit now, according to him.
Rajapaksa will reap what he sow, he had sown the seeds of hatred, while president Sirisena was sowing seeds of compassion, he added.
