The deputy chairman of the Sitawaka Provincial Council and four others have pledged to support Common Opposition Presidential candidate Maithripala Sirisena at next month's election.

He made the announcement a short while ago at a Press conference held at the Opposition leader's office.

The crossovers are United People's Freedom Alliance deputy chairman of the Provincial Council Ananda Rupasinghe and members Ven. Dumkolahena Rathanasinghe Thera, Chandana Balasuriya, Yasiru Rajapaksa and Gayan Duminda.
