The UNP yesterday (22) clarified details pertaining to a forged 'secret agreement', said to be signed by the common opposition candidate Maithripala Sirisena and Ranil Wickremesinghe.

The document, which was set to be printed and publicised by the government, had forged signatures of common opposition candidate Maithripala Sirisena and Ranil Wickremesinghe, the UNP said.

UNP General Secretary Kabir Hashim, Mangala Samaraweera and Ravi Karunanayake elaborated facts on this regrad at a special media briefing held last evening.

Speaking, MP Mangala Samaraweera said that this was a conspiracy of Mahinda Rajapaksa and Tissa Attanayake and that formal complaints have been lodged with the Elections Commissioner and the CID on this regard.

MP Samaraweera also stated that there was no secret agreement between the Common Opposition Candidate Maithripala Sirisena and the UNP leader.
