Dear Sir/Madam,
I kindly draw your attention to the online edition of the article published in your newspaper on the 19th of June 2016 under the heading “Probe Into Death Of Top Cop Reopened” by Ashanthi Warunasuriya.
The content of this article is inaccurate. While the CID is investigating the death of my father at the Police Hospital, he did not suffer from cancer as reported in this article. The family is not suspicious over the cause of his death. The CID is probing the possibility of medical negligence at the Police Hospital. This is what the family has raised. To the families knowledge my father was not administered expired medicine. It is clear that the reporter of this article has mixed up my fathers demise with another case.
The newspaper article in itself is defamatory to my fathers memory as its content is inaccurate.
Thanks and Regards,
Rohan (Son).
