The revelation came in police submissions made to Homagama magistrate’s court yesterday (05).

The CID further said the investigation of telephone conversations showed the main suspect presently in remand custody had telephoned officials of the Presidential Secretariat.

Those Dialog SIM cards had been issued to the name of the secretary to the president.

Magistrate Ranga Dissanayake ordered the Army commander to handover documents to the CID with regard to the movements of personnel between Giritale and Akkarapattu camps between August 2006 and April 2010.

He also instructed the prisons superintendent to arrange for the CID to question the first suspect at the prison.

The magistrate rejected a bail application filed by the eight suspects and remanded them further until July 18, and issued summons to the second suspect to appear before courts on that day.
