The drug trafficker and underworld figure was gunned down in front of the Mahara magistrate’s court a few days ago.
Police are looking for the persons who were behind this ‘floral tribute’ by air that took place as the funeral procession made its way through Gnanendra Mawatha, Thelawala junction and airport junction.
The deceased had been in court to face a hearing against him over the possession of 100 grams of heroin.
After the case ended, he had gone to his car along with his wife, child and the younger sister, when two men in a white-colored car shot him and fled the scene.
The man died while being taken to Ragama Hospital.
Police say he had had connections with southern underworld figure Madhush and had engaged in heroin dealing.
He had been nabbed seven times by the PNB with heroin and was also accused of illegal firearm possession.
