The President has gone to attend an event in the Girandurukotte area after signing the appointment letter and sealing it, sources add.

The announcement is to be made soon after the President returns to Colombo.

Meanwhile, speaking at an event in Girandurukotte, the President himself has stated that he has decided to appoint a new governor to the Central Bank.
