The term of the commission is due to end on July 15.
Paranagama said what they had done so far was to investigate complaints and hear evidence with regard to missing persons only, and that more time was needed to look into the accused parties.
If the commission’s term is extended by one year, the investigations could be fully completed and it could be found out as to how many had gone missing and what had happened to them, said Paranagama.
