He was released on three sureties of Rs. 2.5 million each and cash bail of Rs.1 million.
The judge made the above order after taking up the case where the former Magistrate is accused of keeping an elephant in contravention of the Public Property Act and the Fauna and Flora Act.
The Judge released him on bail, considering special circumstances including him being a judicial officer and his contribution and assistance given to the CID in earlier investigations.
The Judge also impounded the former Magistrate’s passport and ordered him to report to the CID every Sunday.
