The teacher who has thus been subjected to harassment is an IT teacher named Susantha Herath.

He is being harassed by the students as he lodged a compliant against the principal with the Bribery Commission and Ministry of Education regarding the financial irregularities which the principal is responsible of.

Yesterday (09), the principal along with the teacher in charge of the Prefects' Guild has provoked the prefect stating that he got appointed to the school by inappropriate means and has attempted to lodge a complaint against Susantha Herath at Borella Police.

It has been confirmed that the prefects have visited the police station to lodge the complaint during school hours.

The particular teacher has been appointed to Nalanda College on October in 2010 and has been serving at the school for 6 years.

The issue has emerged as the principal appointed another teacher to the subject Susantha Herath is teaching and the new teacher is being paid by the school development fund.
