Commending the ministry for his flexibility, GMOA secretary Nalinda Herath said they were glad to have been able to safeguard the independence of the mechanism of doctor appointments and transfers.
The GMOA staged a four-hour token strike on May 31, accusing the minister of acting in an authoritarian manner in making appointments for post internships and also that his family was interfering in ministry affairs.
Senaratne has refuted both allegations.
