Udayanga admits meeting Mahinda in Uganda Featured

Former ambassador in Russia Udayanga Weeratunga says in a statement that he met ex-president Mahinda Rajapaksa during the latter’s recent tour of Uganda.

Weeratunga also says he has no intention of returning home, as the present administration was taking revenge from top figures in the previous regime.

His diplomatic passport was replaced with a normal passport on 06 March 2016, which was made clear by the Immigration and Emigration Department last week, he says.

Weeratunga also asks the Foreign Affairs Ministry to release to the media the Russian court report with regard to the death of Noel Ranaweera, who had been a messenger at the Sri Lankan embassy in Russia.
