Mahinda’s spies in the cabinet too?

Mahinda’s spies in the cabinet too? Featured

There is suspicion that certain ministers are leaking cabinet information to ex-president Mahinda Rajapaksa, Ravaya reports.

Due to this suspicion, a paper requesting that complaints regard to bribery and corruption committed during the Rajapaksa regime and their status of investigations was not discussed at the May 17 meeting of the cabinet.

That cabinet paper was submitted jointly by Rajitha Senaratne, Champika Ranawaka, Arjuna Ranatunga and Sarath Fonseka, making three requests.

It wants all information be submitted to the cabinet regarding the complaints lodged by civil society organizations with state institutions in 2015 and action taken by the police and its affiliates and the presidential commission investigating bribery and corruption with regard to those complaints.

The cabinet paper alleges the present administration was leaving those corrupt unpunished and continuing with the corrupt practices of the previous regime, and warns the government will be ridiculed and lose its credibility politically over allegations by various persons that those complaints were false and were intended to take revenge only.
