He was speaking at the closing ceremony of a workshop for South Asian regional pediatricians organized by UNICEF.

According to him, 70 per cent of stillbirths in Sri Lanka take place within the first 28 days of pregnancy.

A quality health service is a prerequisite to address this, he said.
