From 2011 to 2014, two offices functioning purportedly as NHDA sub project office at Battaramulla and Jana Sevana supervising office had employed nearly 20 persons under ministry affiliate Oceanview Develpoment company.

Except for three of them, all the others had drawn salaries from Oceanview while being in other professions elsewhere.

Among them was a journalist attached to ‘Lankadeepa’ published by Wijaya Newspapers, who acted as a media coordinator.

The state has incurred a loss of nearly Rs. 30 million from this act of nepotism by Weerawansa.
