The newspaper, named 'Irida', will hit the newsstands this Saturday.
Mohan Samaranayake, who was former President Mahinda Rajapaksa's media secretary on international affairs, will be functioning as the newspaper's chief editor.
Former General Manager of ITN - Sudarman Radaliyagoda will be functioning as its' Director, Editorial.
Speaking to 'Sri Lanka Mirror' on this newspaper, Mr. Radaliyagoda said that they have decided to eliminate the phrase 'reports say' from their publication and not publish any unverified news.
This will be distinguishing characteristic our paper, he added.
He further said that the editorial will attempt to push the borders of investigative journalism without aligning themselves with political parties.
