Compared to thousands of people who attended the rally in Galle, the crowd at Kirulapone was around one fourth of the crowd at Galle, he added, saying that around 700 to 800 vehicles which drove to the rally could not even come near the ground where the rally was held.
" May Day is the labourers' day. Our intention was to give support to the demands of the labourers. We celebrate the May Day with our trade unions. Only few from our party went to Kirulapone. People like Minister Dinesh, Communist Party and Vasu anyway celebrate the May Day separately.The only difference this year was that our former President and several MPs attending that rally. According to our estimates the crowd at Kirulapone was only one fourth of the crowd at Galle," he said.
