The top-ranked clergyman also declared that there was no secret pact between Common Opposition Candidate Maithripala Sirisena and the JHU.

"Udaya Gammanpila was not in conflict with our policies and he left on a personal note. We don't know why but three other secretaries who were with him in the party are still with us and none of them are in disagreement with our policies", the Thera said.
