SLFP MP Geetha Kumarasinghe says she will attend the joint opposition’s May Day rally at Kirulapone, also due to be attended by ex-president Mahinda Rajapaksa, despite whatever happens thereafter.

She has promised to bring 20 busloads of party supporters for the occasion from Bentara-Elpitiya electorate, said a top figure in the joint opposition.

Also, more than 40 MPs of the joint opposition will take part, according to him.

Reports say three out of the 10 SLFP electoral organizers in Galle – Ramesh Pathirana (Akmeemana), Mohan P. de Silva (Ratgama) and Geetha Kumarasinghe will attend the joint oposition rally.

The others – Piyasena Gamage (Hiniduma), Nishantha Muthuhettigama (Baddegama), Shan Wijelal de Silva (Ambalangoda), Manusha Nanayakkara (Galle), Sajin Vaas Gunawardena (Balapitiya) and Gunaratne Weerakoon (Karandeniya) will be there at the Galle rally.
