He made the remarks at a meeting in Dompe.

"I was never up to corrupt practices. Whatever I received was through hard work and toil. I do not need any positions to serve the people", said Minister Mervyn Silva.

"You always drink water from the river but you praise the sea. Through your mouth, nose, eyes, ears body and tongue you do things and you lose your body. I have been serving the people and I can construct five star hotels in various places but I will do all this with dissatisfaction as I am not happy with what is happening", said Minister Silva.
