He was responding to a question put to him by "SriLanka Mirror" over a report in a pro-government newspaper that said he (Karu Jayasuriya) and not Ranil Wickremasinghe will be made the Prime Minister.
"That report (in the pro-government newspaper) was a contract designed to create confusion in the UNP in order to favour the government. So there is no truth in the report. The Common Opposition Candidate (Maithripala Sirisena) will start his 100-day manifesto for a clean administration with Ranil Wickremasinghe as the Prime Minister and we in the UNP are all united", declared Karu Jayasuriya.
Meanwhile at the General Sessions of the National Health Services Union held at Sirikotha, Member of Parliament Ranjith Maddumabandara remarked in his address that the UNP will play a lead role in the National government to be formed after the victory of Common Opposition Candidate Maithripala Sirisena.
"From then on a new political culture will be created in this country", said Maddumabandara.
