A group of government ministers and MPs are engaged in a plan to obtain privileges by raising alarm through deliberately planted false news reports citing their crossovers from the government.

This group is obtaining privileges by alarming the President after deliberately such planting news reports through certain media affiliated to them.

Speaking to 'Sri Lanka Mirror' , a senior official of the Presidential Secretariat said that Minister Basil Rajapaksa has found out that a group of government ministers and MPs have created a 'racket' out of this.

Once the false news report had created panic within the Rajapaksas, these ministers and MPs obtain cash, a vehicle or other privileges in exchange for not crossing over, the official added.
