Will rupee affect Aurudu?

With the festive season of the Sinhala and Tamil new year just around the corner, the continuous depreciation of the rupee could have a deep impact on the lives of public, economic analysts say.

Speaking, Dr. Janak Kumarasinghe - Senior Lecturer of Department of Business Economics, University of Sri Jayawardenapura says that prices of many consumer goods could spike because of this.

Yesterday (29), the Sri Lankan rupee further depreciated to an all time low of Rs. 149.54, according to the exchange rates on the website of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka.
