Maggie VP went to S’pore over Maggi testing? Featured

Vice president of Nestle Lanka Plc. (corporate affairs and communication) Bandula Egodage, who is also chairman of the Export Development Board, was in Singapore last week, reports say.

It is from a Singaporean institution that former head of the Consumer Affairs Authority Rumy Marshook has called for a report on whether Maggi noodles, a product of Nestle, being marketed in Sri Lanka contains graphite.

There is suspicion that Egodage’s sudden Singaporean tour is due to the CAA’s having sent the samples to that country for testing.

Marshook had revealed the country of testing only to industries and commerce minister Risath Badurdeen and a handful of CAA officials, due to fears that the investigation would be influenced.
