Nestle chief in China with minister for a deal? Featured

Nestle Lanka deputy chairman (corporate affairs and communications) Bandula Egodage, who is also chairman of the Export Development Board, is now touring China along with industries and commerce minister Risath Badurdeen, according to reports reaching Sri Lanka Mirror.

Following a ban in India’s Uttarkhand state on Maggi Noodles, a product by Nestle, over fears that it contains graphite, former chairman of Consumer Affairs Authority Rumy Marshook sent local samples overseas for testing.

It is due to this measure that has forced him to resign as the CCA chief, reports say.

Therefore, it is highly suspicious that Egodage has suddenly gone to China along with the commerce minister.

Our attempts to contact Marshook failed, as he did not answer the phone.

The ADB website shows that Egodage heads both institutions.
