9-yr old girl completes U.S Navy obstacle race

She's determined, focused and fiercely fit - and she's just completed a U.S Navy-designed obstacle course.

But Milla Bizzotto is not your average Seal-in-training - she weighs just 53 Ibs and is only nine-years-old.

Bizzotto took on the incredible challenge to raise awareness against bullying, something she has personally been affected by.

In doing so, she became the youngest competitor in the 24-hour Battlefrog obstacle race and to prepare, she had to train for nine months, five days a week for three hours a day.

In a bid to empower herself - and others her age - she decided to take her negative experiences and take physical action.

She told CBS Miami Local: 'I don't want people to quit because they don't believe in themselves because someone else says that they can believe in themselves.'

Bizotto, from South Florida, began training with her father and coach Christian Bizzotto - who runs a gym - and says she wishes to lead a positive movement that will inspire the 'ipad generation.'

Her father said: 'I think the bullying thing has died down without her having to take physical action just because her outlook is so much different now that she knows how to defend herself.'

Bizotto Snr. says that he used to be 'super heavy set' but changed his life to be an example to his daughter - he said that if she is an example to other kids then it's 'mission accomplished'.

The inspirational young woman also competed in the Spartan race with her grandma and father last year - and even crossed the finishing line together, holding hands.

And in the Battlefrog race she completed 36 miles, swam an eight kilometer course and 25 obstacles, for six laps, said her dad.

She slept between 2am and 6am during the 24 hours race and was the only competitor under 18.

Her bullying began when she was in second grade and continued into third grade.

She told the Miami Herald: 'People would call me names and say I wasn't a good player.

'I didn't want anyone else to go through what I did. I want to set an example and show other kids that they can do or be anything they want.'

In order to compete safely in the race, Bizotto had to get all the necessary gear such as compression socks and a tent - for which she set a GoFundMe page that raised an impressive $1,645.

Her mission: 'I want to inspire kids to eat healthy and get outside and play. I want kids to stand up to bullies. I was bullied at school, kids get bullied all the time.

'We are all made in different shapes and sizes, we need to love our bodies!

'I have been training 3pm to 7pm 5 days a week since June. I am on a mission! Please help me get to the races and spread my message.

And added: 'Please make your kids play outside!'

Her father says that she is naturally motivated young girl and that he doesn't push her to do anything. He said if she wanted to play with Barbies - that would be 'totally cool' too.

Milla said that her aim is to inspire a generation. She says she doesn't get bullied anymore as she knows how to stand up for herself.

And added: 'And I love what I do. I want to do it forever.'
