In a bid to prove that beauty is more than skin deep, the pageant queens have removed all of their slap and posed for a bunch of stunning no-make-up selfies.

And the striking images prove that this year's competitors are gorgeous without all the fake tan, stick-on eyelashes and bright red lipstick.

This year's competitors have dubbed the online campaign, #ConfidentlyBeautiful and are encouraging other women from around the globe to take part.

A representative from The Miss Universe Organisation says the initiative aims to use 'its global grassroots reach to empower women to be self-confident and strive to be their personal best'.

They believe every female should be 'Confidently Beautiful'.

Miss Universe 2014 winner Paulina Vega, from Colombia, kick-started the craze and invited other women to take part.

She tweeted: 'Every #MissUniverse is #ConfidentlyBeautiful. Are you? Show us your no-makeup selfies with #ConfidentlyBeautiful.'

The message was accompanied by her own flawless make-up free snap.
