Man spends 72 hours on steel cable

A man from northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region has succeeded in spending 72 hours on a 70-meter-long steel wire without any protection in Changsha, capital of central China’s Hunan Province.

The challenge started on Thursday afternoon as Saimaiti Aishan, the seventh-generation of Darwaz walks, stood on the wire that is 50 meters above the ground.

The high-wire walker performed stunts, including backward walking, hanging upside down and headstand on the wire.

Aishan was allowed to rest on the wire at the intervals between performances, but he had to sleep in a sleeping bag hanging on the wire for nights.

The food he brought was finished in the second day and he spent the last over 20 hours in starvation.

His wife gave him a big hug after Aishan finished the challenge.
