Thilanga's 'pep talk' goes sour? Featured

Sri Lanka Cricket Chairman Thilanga Sumathipala had given a 'pep talk' for the national men's cricket team before they departed for the Asian Cup and this had not bode so well with the team, reports say.

During the talk in Thilanga's office, it has been alleged that there was no unity within the team.

Also, Thilanga bringing in Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka to give them tips had increased the players' displeasure, reliable sources add.

Meanwhile, eyebrows have been raised after two executive committee members had gone overseas with the players after the SLC administration led by Sumathipala had decided that no such officials should accompany players, in a bid to cut down costs.

However, Ravin Wickramaratne had gone overseas twice and Shammi de Silva, once, citing their reason as to oversee tournament organising activities, reports further say.
