Minister Dayasiri Jayasekara has warned badminton, athletics, hockey, tennis and table tennis associations they would be debarred from SAG if these issues were not resolved.
In badminton, the selection committee has dropped leading shuttlers, the two Karunaratne brothers, accusing them of participating in a private tour without informing them, while qualifying matches were underway.
Selectors have warned that they would resign if the duo is included for the SAG.
Also, two-time SAG gold medallist in women’s 200 metres Chandrika Subhashini Rasnayake and the men’s 400 m national champion Kasun Kalhara have been absent at qualifying races.
Jayasekara has told officials to include them in the contingent.
The tennis association is facing trouble in choosing the team as per last year’s rankings, with special qualifying matches organized on three days last week as Roshen Fernando was not included.
