Manoli committee sheds light on SLC sex scandal Featured

The committee headed by Attorney at Law Manoli Jinadasa has shed light to the sexual scandal that rocked Sri Lanka Cricket recently.

The committee probed into the allegations of cricket officials soliciting sexual bribes from national women’s cricketers during selections to the national team.

Internal sources from the SLC say that probe has further shed light on the alleges leveled against the team manager Roshan Iddamalgoda, selection committee head Jayantha Amarasinghe and selection committee member Suchithra Alexander.

A complete report on the probe has been submitted to the SLC Executive Committee meeting.

Among those who face allegations, a person attached to the management is reported to be perpetually drunk and is said to be having a habit of barging into the dressing rooms of the players in his underwear, while they are showering.

Also, a person linked to the selection process has reportedly attempted to lure players as young as 19-20, hinting of sexual bribes over the phone.

It is also said that one person facing these alleges is also representing the Executive Committee but had left the Ex-Co meeting before the issue was taken up.
