Interim Committee also increase expenses of SLC Featured

The Interim Committee of Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC)  has also increased the salaries of the SLC employees with effect from 1 September, reports say.

The former Sports Minister appointed an Interim Committee to SLC due to the allegations on inappropriate salary increments, arbitrary appointments and corruption.

However, the Interim Committee has taken measures to increase the salaries of nearly 228 employees attached to SLC and the new salary increment will add an additional amount of Rs 3 million to the monthly expenses of SLC.

Previously the amount spent on salaries was Rs 26 million which has now gone up to Rs 29 million.

The Interim Committee has been alleged of neglecting the district cricket coaches attached to SLC in the process of increasing salaries.

The suggestion to increase the salaries was first made by the CEO of SLC and the salary increment formula had been formulated in a manner that benefits himself and those who are in favour of him.
