Bodybuilders to participate in world championship without officials Featured

The Sri Lankan team contesting in the 68th World Men’s Bodybuilding Championships in Brazil is to participate in the championship without any officials.

Though there had been two officials including the coach and the manager included in the team comprising of 3 players, the officials have been unable to participate as the Ministry of Sports suddenly rejected to provide tickets for the officials.

Y.G Amila and Ranil Sampath are to represent Sri Lanka in 60kg weight class at the championship, while Subhash Siriwardane is to contest in 65kg weight class.

The Chairman of Sri Lanka Body Building Federation (SLBBF), Kapila Kumara and coach, Nihal Weeratunga were to accompany the team initially.

Seventy-two countries are to participate in the championship.
