"I would have loved to have won a 50-over World Cup. We had two chances, which we didn't convert them. It would have been nice to win few more Test matches away from home as well," said Sangakkara, ahead of the first Test match of the three-match series against India, which starts in Galle from Wednesday.
Sangakkara, who is playing his last series before retiring from international cricket, further said that it would have been great had they won a Test series in India as well.
"I think that is the way the game goes. There are regrets, but there are no regrets that I can think on and bitter about in future," the 37-year-old added.
Meanwhile, speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Sri Lankan Cricketer Kumar Sangakkara commented on whether he would enter cricket administration or politics, following retirement.
He said that he believes that he needs to stay away from the game, for a year or two after retirement, and come out of the mentality of a player.
Sangakkara also said that afterwards, he will be ready to render his support to the Sri Lankan Cricket Team and cricket at any required time.
Speaking further, he noted that he has not been invited to politics and does not have any aspiration to enter.
