England breaks Lanka's record of highest ever ODI total

England wrapped up the series against Pakistan in overwhelming style as they reached they reached the highest total in ODI history at Trent Bridge yesterday (30).

Scoring a 444 for 3, England overtook the previous record set by Sri Lanka after scoring 443 for 9 against the Netherlands in 2006.

England captain Eoin Morgan had won the toss and elected to bat and opener Alex Hales led the assault at Trent Bridge by striking a fierce 171 run innings in 122-balls.

Pakistan was defeated by 169 runs.
