Extensive investigations have commenced regarding a man by the name of Wasantha Dissanayake, who is believed to have sent an email that led to the news item that was published in the Sydney Morning Herald web site, claiming that Maithripala Sirisena had obtained bribes from an Australian company for irrigation projects to be implemented in Sri Lanka through his coordinating secretary, during his tenure as the Agriculture and Agrarian Services Minister.

The FCID has commenced investigations against Dole Lanka (Pvt.) Ltd. for forcibly acquiring 1,000 acres of state land for banana cultivation.

A complaint will be lodged with the FCID regarding the public warehouse operated by Global Transportation, a company of which Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake’s wife Melani Viranthi Karunanayake and daughter Onella Viranthi Karunanayake are directors, said the convenor of the Voice Against Corruption movement Wasantha Samarasinghe.

Joint Opposition National Organiser and SLFP Matara district MP Dullas Alahapperuma said he did not resign from his post as the SLFP leader of the Matara district on a collective decision of the JO.

It is reported that a cabinet paper has been submitted for the sale of the Eastern terminal of the Colombo Port. The Cabinet paper has been presented on June 22, 2015. On June 03 the same year, Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake’s recommendations were also said to have been received.
