According to this decision taken on April 11, all information relating to economic policy will be announced by the Policy planning and Economic Affairs Ministry coming under the purview of Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and the Cabinet Sub Committee on Economic Affairs.

This decision would be officially intimated to all ministries by Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe after the Sinhala and Tamil New Year.

Informed sources said the government had taken this decision after considering statements made by three ministries regarding the government's economic policies, the IMF, ADB, World Bank, other banks and the government's view point on international organisations in the recent past.
