Informed sources said that Digambaram is expected to take the decision within the next couple of hours.

The inability of the government to address the problems facing plantation workers and the failure to grant him a responsible portfolio to tackle the needs of estate workers are said to be the reasons why Digambaram had contemplated moving on to the Opposition.

Digambaram represents the National Workers Union and has been serving as National Languages and Social Integration Minister.
