Speaking to 'BBC Sandeshaya', minister Nanayakkara has said though executive presidency should be abolished, he has decided to back the current President as Rajapaksa is prepared to bring in constitutional reforms after the Presidential election.
"The President is ready for constitutional reforms. Also, he himself has declared that he could be the last executive president of Sri Lanka."
Nevertheless, I am completely against executive presidency and would join to abolish it regardless of the person holding the post, he has further said.
Speaking further, the minister has also refuted media reports claiming that he was preparing for a crossover.
