FSP propaganda secretary Pubudu Jayagoda says the police forced them into a clash when they had gone to the Department Of Immigration And Emigration, for the third time, to handover an application for Gunaratnam’s citizenship.

Jayagoda admits that Gunaratnam had violated immigration and emigration laws, appeared in an assumed name and faked a passport – all of which had been done, as pointed out at courts too, for a very valid reason – that is to protect his life.

He questions as to why Gunaratnam’s request for citizenship was not being considered, which is a matter for the political authority to decide.

Jayagoda also asked as to why Gunaratnam has been taken to Anuradhapura prison against his will.
