Strengthening state democracy is one prominent factor, says chairman of the committee - Attorney-at-Law Lal Wijenayake.
During the last regime, democracy in the country and the independence of judiciary had experienced a downfall, he added.
Noting that state suppression had spiked during the recent past, Wijenayake said that the second prominent factor they would be focusing on is national reconciliation.
He also said that it is being considered to extend the tenure of the Public Representations Committee on Constitutional Reforms. The committee's tenure ended on March 31.
