'Ban ISIS in Sri Lanka' Featured

A pro-buddhist organisation has requested President Maithripala Sirisena to ban the ISIS organization in Sri Lanka, reports say.

In a epistle to the President, chairperson of the ‘Hela Bodu Saviya’ organization - Ven. Budugala Jinawansha Thero has also urged to establish a special security unit which will be capable of facing such a situation.

ISIS should be banned in Sri Lanka to hinder the possible propagation of Islamic fundamentalism in the country, the organisation says.

Noting that people from Pakistan and Maldives had already joined this outfit, the organisation states that there is a serious threat looming as a lot of citizens from these countries are coming to live in Sri Lanka.
