The Attorney General's Department has obstructed Kumar Gunaratnam's opportunity to apply for dual citizenship and so far he has been in remand custody in Kegalle for over 100 days.
Keeping him under remand custody furthermore would bring no benefit to the country , he says , adding that there cannot be a legal solution for an issue which demands a political solution.
CHR emphasize that to date freedom has been granted for many except for Kumar Gunaratnam and it is a situation which requires immediate correction.
